Administration and research management services support and advise the director of HIS as well as staff members as they deal with the strategic, administrative, and organizational demands associated with the diverse processes that are part of the work in a lively and internationally oriented research institution. Management for research rather than managing research is the objective that defines what we do.

The range of tasks includes human resources management and development, overseeing the budget and financial affairs, administering third-party funds, financial controlling, quality control, organizing events, building and facilities management, and administration of the Institute’s IT infrastructure. Together with the director, the head of administration assists researchers applying for third-party grants from national and international funding programs and facilitates the strategic and contractual arrangements involved in establishing and maintaining various forms of national and international collaboration.
